Brief
Ayogo and Genentech collaborated on award-winning health games.
In this game, I worked in Art Direction and Audio Design. I directed the visual style of the game, designed parts of the visual experience, and created audio assets. We sought a wealth of inspiration to create a game that was both fun and educational.

Challenge
Genentech approached Ayogo Health with the design challenge of creating a digital experience to educate the population about cancer treatments, specifically immunotherapy.
Collaborating with the Creative Director and Development team, we created the core fantasy of the game based on the “Everyday Epic” campaign and the brand identity of Genentech. I worked on the design of three science games, which needed to be fun and visually appealing. I was responsible for the creation of user interfaces, game graphics, and sounds.
We faced the challenge of creating a blood stream game that was neither bloody nor childish. The team brainstormed and researched different technologies to assist in this endeavor. The game was required to be a web app, so performance was critical to the project. Also, we aimed to create an engaging experience.
Design
I aimed to generate depth of field by having layers of elements running at different speeds as the gameplay happened. We created many variations on the cells, experimented with different styles and effects, and ultimately used the ones that were most identifiable at the game’s speed. The user interface was very simple and clean, using ghost and solid white buttons.
The idea was to have blood cells running in the bloodstream, where the user had to tap these cells.
